So, here's the highlights.
1. The doctor who claimed that the MMR (measles mumps rubella) vaccine led to autism intentionally misled people. His claims are untrue and he intentionally committed a fraud.
2. Vaccines have two purposes: first to render a child immune from a disease, or if the child catches it, to get a milder version. The second purpose is to prevent the disease from spreading. Smallpox was eradicated that way. Polio is on its way to eradication.
3. The recent rise in people refusing to vaccinate their children has led to the rise in the incidence of whooping cough and the completely avoidable deaths of many children.
Conclusion: Get your kid vaccinated.
