Don Kenn writes and directs television shows for kids while being the father to a set of twins—which means he doesn’t have much spare time. When he does find the time, he draws monsters on Post-it notes.
Kenn explains, “it is a little window into a different world, made on office supplies.” And his world is fabulous! Although Kenn's style is distinct, his drawings remind me of Edward Gorey's work. Each picture tells a story, and cumulatively they depict a world where monsters are not benign but are not evil either. We share their space, and, mostly, they let us. Or not.
