“I am sorry to interrupt your morning classes. As you can see, it’s snowing heavily outside. I have also been told there are very strong winds. These make for dangerous driving conditions. So—”

[Pause]

“When leaving at the end of the day, please drive carefully.”

[Sixteen hundred high school students groan simultaneously.]



Of course, this was before 7 snow days, a bunch of half days, and enough weather for several winters combined.
